Report of newly selected student by Himalaya Education Center

Miss Bhote is from a poor family of a remote part of Sankhuwasabha district. It takes three days to reach her village on foot from khandbari . The main source of income of the family is agriculture. All together there are 8 members in the family. So the income is not sufficient to generate life of each member in a good way. The family is under the poverty. She is the eldest one and somehow getting education. Now she is in grade six. Other brothers and sisters have not join the school still.

She belongs to Bhotiya society where the women are dominated. In this 21^st century too women are far beyond the rights and opportunities. Almost all the women of the village are illiterate. She is from such a village where none of the girls have passed SLC till now. There is only a primary school in the village. After primary education students need to go out of the village for further study. This is the reason many students cannot continue education.

We selected her in the aim to make her first girl to attend SLC exam from the village. We hope she will be the example for the village. She felt so lucky and excited by this program. Her parents are very much grateful to the organization.
